City Commissioners
A new board game from CV Industries.

Corruption, negligence, kickbacks, and bribes are all a part of the newest board game, City Commissioners. As a creative mix of existing genres, City Commissioners combines the economic development of games like Sim City with some of the negotiating aspects of social games like The Settlers of Catan or Diplomacy. Throw in a theme rife with humor that pokes fun at the realities of red tape bureaucracy that plagues real life development, the game stands out as a game of skill, chance, and fun. |
As each player is a City Commissioner with a different set of constituents, they all have separate goals to guide their term in office. To compound things, each player will have their home somewhere on the board, and their personal interests in the quality of life for that part of town may influence their decisions. City Commissioners will vote on each piece of development, but players will be able to use special cards to force their development on others. Cards that can alter development, move it, or force it on others will affect where the residents live, where the shops are located, and who has to deal with the smelly industry. |

The artwork is all preliminary at this stage of development. Some of it is just placeholder while playtesting is underway. The essence of the game, however, is progressing wonderfully. |
